Quick Outing on the Weber River

Rob and I did a quick trip to the Weber river to go after some brown trout. Rob went after them on the fly while I chose to throw Castaic Jerky J jerk baits on my spinning rod. We both had success, but the bigger fish came on the Jerky J. We had perfect weather while we fished and had the river to ourselves. There were still a few fish on reds, but the spawn is all but over. You'll still need to watch where you step to avoid disturbing the reds. It's tough to beat Fall fishing in Utah, so get out before the snow starts to fly.

One of many decent Brown Trout caught today.

The Jerky J did it's job today.

Cutthroat trout caught on a fly.

The Jerky J is trout candy. 16 fish caught with them on this trip.
